When Do You Need a License Modification?

Any change to the details on your existing FSSAI license requires a formal modification filing. Operating with outdated information on your license is treated as non-compliance.

Common Modification Triggers

• Change of business address or premises
• Addition of new food product categories
• Change in business name or ownership structure
• Change in partnership or board of directors
• Addition of new manufacturing or processing units

Form C3 for Address Changes

Address changes require filing Form C3. If the new address is within the same state and same municipal jurisdiction, the modification is relatively straightforward. However, if the new address falls under a different municipal jurisdiction or a different state, it may be treated as a fresh application.

Documents Needed

• Current FSSAI license copy
• Form C3 (for address changes) or relevant modification form
• New address proof — rent agreement, electricity bill
• NOC from the new local authority
• Updated layout plan (if applicable)
• Fee payment receipt
