FSSAI fees are paid directly to the government and depend on your license category and the duration you choose. Here is the current fee structure.
Basic Registration Fees
The government fee for Basic Registration is ₹100 per year. You can register for 1 year up to a maximum of 5 years. The total fee scales linearly — ₹100 for 1 year, ₹200 for 2 years, and so on.
State License Fees
State License fees vary based on your business type:
- Small restaurants and food vendors: ₹2,000 per year
- Medium manufacturers and processors: ₹3,000 per year
- Large storage and transporters: ₹5,000 per year
Central License Fee
The Central License has a flat government fee of ₹7,500 per year regardless of business type. This covers importers, exporters, large manufacturers, and operators supplying food to government agencies.
Professional Service Charges
Most businesses hire a consultant or service provider to handle the application. Professional charges are separate from government fees and typically range from ₹1,500 to ₹5,000 for Basic Registration and ₹3,000 to ₹10,000 for State and Central Licenses.
